Midland Baptist Church
Charles Douglas (Bro. Doug) Mitchell was called as pastor of Midland
Baptist church on May 13, 2010. Bro Doug has been Associate Pastor for the past
several years and is also Director of Journey of Hope Ministries along with his
wife, Kay. Journey of Hope Ministries is a Mission of Midland Baptist church.
Bro. Doug and Kay have two daughters, and three grandchildren.
Bro. Doug and Kay reside in the Midland Community.

Missions Ministry Assistance Fund
The sale of the Association property made it possible to
established a Missions Ministry Missions fund. This fund is available to
assist qualifying Churches in the Association with mission/ministry
projects.

Missions Ministry Assistance Fund Distributions
The Following Churches were awarded Mission Ministry
Funds for the first half of 2010.
1,192.04 to Barfield Baptist for their mission trip to Illinois.
1,495.66 to LifePoint Church to help support missionaries in Belguim.
1,495.66 to Mt. Pleasant to help fund a mission trip to Thailand.
1,495.66 to Northside Baptist to assist in a mission project in the Copper
Basin Association.
1,495.66 to Parkway Baptist to assist in a mission effort in Thailand.
2,168.71 to Southeast for two mission projects. one in Ohio and the other in
Unionville, TN.
1,495.66 to Taylor's Chapel for a mission project in Copper Basin.
The first funds of the newly established Missions
Ministry Fund have been disbursed for 2009.
$1,000 to Barfield Baptist for Missionary Support.
$2,000 to Third Baptist for mission trip to Belgium.
$2,000 to Third Baptist for mission trip to Newfoundland.
$2,000 to Stones River for mission trip to Mississippi.
$2,000 to Crosspoint for Hispanic ministry.
Association History
Dr. Rolater is writing a history of the Association to
commemorate our 200th anniversary. His book will be available for purchase
at the 2010 Annual Meeting.
Dr. Rolater has asked that each church write a two page history summary and
attach a black and white photo. Entries submitted by May will be included in
the book.
Association Newsletter
Concord Baptist Association publishes a bi-monthly
newsletter that appears on the back page of the Baptist and Reflector.
